- Eq. P.O. John Seville suffered a massive heart attack on 3/31/08 and is in the
process of recovering. P.O. Seville spent a short time in Newton Hospital, was
medivaced to Morristown memorial Hospital, and rehabbed in Kessler. On the third
day of his ordeal, his wife Connie gave birth to their second son Levi.
Miraculously P.O. Seville returned home before father's day. We are looking
forward to P.O. Seville's return to work soon. See following link to P.O.

- On Thursday May 22, 2008 Sgt. John S. Schetting of the Stillwater Township
Police Department, a 13 year veteran died unexpectedly in his home. Sgt. J.
Schetting is the brother of Lt. Joe Schetting of the Sparta Township Police
Department. Please keep the Schetting family in your thoughts and prayers.
- Anyone requiring a child restraint installation, inspection, or having any
questions concerning child restraints please call 973-726-4086 and leave a
message. A Traffic Officer will return your call and be happy to schedule an
apointment for you to have your child restraint installed or answer your
questions
- 2007 elections were held in October for the year 2008. Keith Hannam resigned as Secretary and Ron Casteel was nominated and accepted this position. Lou Takacs ran unopposed for Treasurer, Marc Rubino ran unopposed for Vice President and there was an election for President, Richard Smith and John Schanstra. A secret ballot was held at the November meeting and Richard Smith remains Lodge President.
- Vice President, Terrance Mulligan has resigned due to personal obligations. On behalf of the membership I would like to thank him for his dedication and service to our lodge. Also on 08/01/07 Mark Rubino was named as his replacement and now holds the office of Vice President.
- On July 3, 2007 Brent Grauerholz and Ryan McGowan were sworn in as police officers.
Ryan McGowan graduated the Morris County Police Academy in June. He was an alternate route recruit. P.O. McGowan begins his field training on 07/05/07.
Brent Grauerholz will be attending the Morris County Police Academy begining on 07/09/07.
Congradulations to both and good luck to Brent Grauerholz in the academy.
- On June 22, 2007 Sgt. Glen Dusz retired from the Sparta Police Department. Sgt. Dusz was in charge of the Traffic Bureau and spent some of his career as the F.O.P. President. The F.O.P. wishes him a happy and healthy retirement.
- On January 10, 2007, Chief Reigstad swore in two new police recruits, Andrew Petriceli and Thomas Snyder. Both recruits are Veterans of the US Military. The recruits attended The Passaic County Police Academy in Wayne NJ. The academy was approximately 26 weeks and the recruits received extensive training to begin their careers as police officers.
- On June 28, 2007, P.O. Andrew Petriceli and P.O. Thomas Snyder graduated from The Passaic County Police Academy. The new Police Officers will spend the next 10 weeks with a training officer in our department before they get out on the road. Good Luck
- Congratulations to P.O. Petriceli for winning the sharp shooter award while attending the academy. This award is issued to the recruit who attains the highest score during firearms qualifications.
